SCI History

Southern Components, Inc. is a family owned and operated business established in 1960 as Gang Nail Truss in Shreveport, Louisiana. Our name changed in 1980 to better reflect our product line. With over 60 years of hard work, dedication, and a love for this industry, SCI has remained one of the nation’s premier component manufacturers. Our products can be found across the globe, from Japan to Florida, Mexico to Ohio, and the list grows daily.

Southern Components, Inc. (SCI) is proud of the company’s growth involving many changes and advances. But one principle has remained unchanged throughout the years of service to the construction industry, our commitment. Commitment to product, to excellence, and to fast efficient service. To demonstrate just how seriously SCI takes that commitment, our company voluntarily engages the service of an outside, nationally recognized inspection organization (SPIB) to make regular WTCAQC plant inspections. This assures that the lumber and assembly techniques meet or exceed the truss industry’s most rigid engineering criteria. Since clients have come to expect this adherence to top quality, the single minded purpose of SCI is not to disappoint them.
